On Wednesday afternoon Yvonne came in to help us do a craft activity. We made Christmas Snowmen. We had 3 polystyrene balls that we stuck together with toothpicks and glue. Then we glued on cotton wool all over the balls. Next we glued on a pompom nose and googly eyes. Finally we stuck on buttons and a hat. Thanks Yvonne!

Yesterday we made presents for our buddies in Room 2. We made them candy cane reindeer and a card. We think they really liked them!

Room 13 Molecules

We have been learning about how everything is made up of molecules, and how these molecules are different in solids, liquids and gases. In class we became molecules and acted out how we would act if we were a solid, a liquid or a gas. It was heaps of fun!!

Here we are a liquid, we are molecules that are touching each other but we can move around.

Here we are molecules in a gas, moving around the classroom.

Here we are molecules in something solid again, vibrating closely next to each other.

Molecules on the Move!

On Wednesday we did another science experiment. Each group had two test tubes, one had cold water in it, the other had hot water in it. We put a drop of food colouring in each one and observed what happened to each tube. The food colouring in the hot water spread and mixed in a lot quicker than the cold water. Ask me to explain to you why this happened!
